What’s the suitbale lumen for indoor use strip light?

A lumen is a unit of measurement for the quantity of light emitted by a light source. A strip light’s brightness is often measured in lumens per foot or meter, depending on the unit of measurement used. The brighter the strip light, the higher the lumen value.

Follow these steps to calculate a light source’s lumen output:

1. Determine the luminous flux: The total amount of light emitted by a light source, measured in lumens, is referred to as the luminous flux. This information can be found on the light source’s datasheet or package.

2. Account for the area’s size: If you want to know the lumen output per square foot or meter, you must account for the area being illuminated. To do so, divide the luminous flux by the whole area illuminated. If a 1000 lumen light source illuminates a 100 square foot room, the lumen output per square foot is 10 (1000/100 = 10).

3. compensate for viewing angle: If you want to know the lumen output for a certain viewing angle, you must compensate for the light source’s beam angle. This is usually expressed in degrees and can be found on the datasheet or package. You can use a formula to compute the lumen output for a certain viewing angle, or you can use the inverse square law to get an approximation.

Remember that the efficacy of a light source might vary based on other parameters, such as the reflectance of the surfaces in the area being lighted. As a result, the lumen output is simply one factor to consider when selecting a light source.

The appropriate luminosity for an interior lighting strip varies based on the type and purpose of the lighting. However, a decent range for LED strip lighting would be between 150 and 300 lumens per foot (or 500 and 1000 lumens per meter). This range is bright enough to give appropriate illumination for chores like as cooking, reading, or computer work, while also being energy-efficient and contributing to the creation of a comfortable and soothing environment. Keep in mind that the color temperature and shape of the strip, as well as the distance between the strip and the surface being illuminated, can all have an impact on the specific lumen output.
